This is a live-in position — an apartment is provided as part of your compensation package. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of repair and maintenance tasks, responding promptly to resident needs, and maintaining a safe, functional environment. You will work directly under the Superintendent and play a critical role in keeping this high-end property running at the highest standard. Our residents expect and receive white-glove service, and our maintenance team is a key part of delivering that experience every single day. Responsibilities Perform skilled maintenance and repairs across all areas of the property including plumbing, electrical, painting, spackling, drywall, flooring, and general carpentry Respond to resident maintenance requests promptly and professionally — always with a positive, service-first attitude Respond to maintenance emergencies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week — this is a critical requirement of the role. You will coordinate with the Superintendent to arrange coverage during periods when you are unavailable or on paid time off Assist with unit turnovers — repairs, painting, and preparation for new residents Conduct routine property inspections and report any issues to the Maintenance Manager Maintain cleanliness and organization of the maintenance shop and storage areas Coordinate with vendors and contractors on site when needed Document completed work orders accurately and in a timely manner Requirements Minimum 3 years of hands-on building maintenance experience Proficiency in plumbing, electrical, painting, spackling, floor repair, and general building maintenance — must be able to work across all trades Must be available and reachable for emergency response 24/7, with the ability to coordinate coverage with the Superintendent during scheduled time off or other periods of unavailability Strong communication skills — ability to interact professionally with luxury residents Ability to work independently and take initiative without waiting to be directed Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented Must be comfortable living on-site (apartment provided) Preferred Qualifications Experience in luxury residential or Class A multifamily properties a plus EPA 608 certification or other relevant trade certifications a plus CPO (Certified Pool Operator) license a plus Familiarity with property management platforms (Appfolio, Yardi, BuildingLink, Livly, etc.) Bilingual a plus What We Offer On-site apartment provided — live where you work in Jersey City Competitive salary commensurate with experience Paid time off Opportunity to grow within a premier property management team Supportive management and a team-first culture This is a rare live-in opportunity at a truly exceptional property.
