Part-Time Maintenance Worker

The South Orange Department of Recreation & Cultural Affairs is dedicated to enriching the lives of our community members by providing a diverse range of recreational, cultural, and educational opportunities. We are seeking multiple part-time Maintenance Staff members to assist in the upkeep and daily maintenance of recreation facilities including parks, fields, tennis courts and the newly renovated Baird Community Center.

Maintenance Staff :

Summary:

A Maintenance Staff member is responsible for maintaining high cleanliness and safety standards of all public parks, fields and community center.

Responsibilities:

Prepare sports fields for practices and games (i.e. raking and lining sports fields, moving sports equipment, ect) Ensure the facilities are clean and safe at all times and assists with cleaning and sanitation as directed. Perform preventative maintenance tasks and minor repairs of the facility and equipment Assist with set up and clean up for community events (i.e. concerts, outdoor movies, ect) Report maintenance issues and damages promptly to supervisor

Requirements:

Must be able to work a variety of day, night, and weekend shifts Willingness to work between 15-25 hours per week Must be able to work independently and complete a daily list of assigned tasks Must be able to spend the majority of the day walking, twisting, bending, pushing and pulling Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., and carry up to 25 lbs.
