Construction Worker II (Open Space Maintenance) City of Albuquerque - 3.6 Albuquerque, NM Job Details Full-time $19.96 - $20.98 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Driver's License Full Job Description JOB Participate in the construction, maintenance, repair and remodeling of facilities/structures and parks; perform a variety of construction tasks involved in the renovation of wooden, concrete, brick or metal City buildings including rough and finish carpentry, masonry, block laying, painting, plumbing, basic electrical, minor welding, plastering, roofing, tiling, fence installation and sheetrock work and perform a variety of technical tasks relative to assigned areas of responsibility. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Education and experience directly related to the minimum requirements below may be interchangeable on a year for year basis. High school diploma or GED supplemented by thirty (30) credit hours of specialized training in construction, carpentry, plumbing, or welding; and Two (2) years general construction experience.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Possession of a valid New Mexico Driver's License or the ability to obtain by date of hire. Possession of a City Operator's Permit (COP) within six (6) months from date of hire.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Independently perform rough and finish carpentry, cement finishing, welding and plumbing tasks Construct and repair a variety of fences Operate a variety of construction equipment in a safe and effective manner Perform material and cost estimating for less complex construction jobs Read, interpret and follow blueprints and sketches Work independently in the absence of supervision Communicate clearly and concisely Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work Perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation
