Join the East Syracuse Minoa Central School District team as a Maintenance Worker I , where every day brings variety and the chance to use your hands-on skills across multiple trades. This position is perfect for someone who enjoys solving problems, working independently, and tackling a wide range of projects—from carpentry and plumbing to painting, electrical work, and equipment maintenance. What You'll Do As a Maintenance Worker I, you'll be part of the team that keeps our school facilities in top shape.

Your work will include:

Repairing and maintaining doors, windows, locks, railings, furniture, and fixtures. Performing plumbing repairs such as fixing leaks, unclogging drains, and installing or replacing pipes and fixtures. Operating and maintaining heating, hot water, and ventilation equipment. Handling light electrical tasks including wiring, replacing switches, and maintaining lighting fixtures. Doing painting, plastering, masonry, roofing, and welding repairs. Installing flooring, tiles, carpet, and hardware; patching walls and ceilings; and making general building repairs. Performing seasonal and general upkeep such as snow removal, field maintenance, and basic groundskeeping. What We're Looking For Hands-on experience : At least 3 years of work experience assisting in maintenance, repair, or skilled trades. Problem solver : Ability to figure out what needs fixing and the best way to do it. Safety conscious : Knowledge of workplace safety practices and precautions. Flexible and skilled : Comfortable working in a variety of trades and learning new skills as needed. Team player with independence : Able to take direction but also work on your own to get the job done. Licensed driver : A valid NYS driver's license (CDL or Non-CDL depending on assignments).
