$24.63 Building Assistant II Reports to the Facilities Manager Responsible to the President/CEO
POSITION CONCEPT
The Building Assistant II will assist the Facilities Manager with the maintenance and proper repair of CWI buildings, building's systems and grounds. This position will be primarily responsible for periodic emergency and requested maintenance for the CWI Residential facilities.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
The Building Assistant II will: 1. Actively Cooperate with the President/CEO and other staff members in a joint endeavor in satisfactorily achieving the goals of CWI. 2. Coordinate and perform Residential building and grounds maintenance as needed. 3. Assist in special projects at other CWI facilities and work with Building Assistant and Facilities Manager to ensure proper completion of projects and tasks involved. 4. Ensure and maintain the upkeep and general outer appearance of assigned grounds, including, but not limited to, lawn care, snow removal, removal of debris from the grounds, and other similar activities. 5. Coordinate and perform routine painting, plumbing and carpentry tasks, as well as preventive maintenance and general maintenance activities. 6. Be responsible for all equipment, tools, supplies and materials for on-going custodial maintenance and general maintenance activities. 7. Notify the Facilities Manager concerning the need for major repairs and assist in scheduling those repairs. 8. Share in on-call responsibilities and assist in providing coverage, as needed. 9. Take part in any in-service training as offered by the agency as requested. 10. Act in any other capacity as directed by the President/CEO.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or equivalent and a demonstrated ability to safely and effectively use cleaning and maintenance methods, equipment and materials. Ability to understand and troubleshoot septic, well, HVAC and electrical systems. Able to negotiate, and represent CWI needs with outside vendors. Acceptable driving record required. In addition, individual must have an affinity for working with the disabled, as well as be able to establish good customer relations with CWI staff.
