Job Description

JOB PURPOSE
Maintenance Assistant supports the Chief Engineer in maintaining overall appearance and working order of the hotel. This position must be able to work independently as well as with others. The Assistant Maintenance position requires overall maintenance knowledge and trouble shooting ability with skills in painting, HVAC, carpentry, equipment, and proper tool usage. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial:
  • Assist Chief Engineer or Facilities Manager with ordering parts and supplies in a timely and efficient manner while minimizing waste.
  • Assist with hotel renovations and other projects, and assist with timely completion of projects within budget.
  • Secure all tools and equipment to avoid damage or theft.
  • Complete all maintenance work orders in a timely manner to avoid revenue loss and maintain guest satisfaction.
People:
  • Ability to relate well to hotel guests and team members. Must be personable, enthusiastic, self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Maintains a clean, safe, hazard free-work environment at all times.
  • Assist team members with daily responsibilities.
  • While in all public areas of the hotel, be sure to acknowledge all guests and greet them with a smile.
  • Follows the no cell phone policy while on duty, to focus on guest and team member interaction.
Guest Experience:
  • Works closely with other departments to achieve maximum guest satisfaction.
  • Completes all preventative guest room work orders in a timely fashion to provide the highest possible service.
  • Courteously and promptly responds to emergency work orders, while guest are in-house.
  • Must be able to use tact and understanding when dealing with a variety of customer service problems, including stressful and highly emotional situations.
  • Communicates completed work orders to Guest Service Agents.
Safety Awareness:
  • Maintain safety by adhering to stated safety policies, responsible to report all accidents immediately. Support all safety programs. Proceed with caution when walking on slippery floors and in congested areas. Ensure that proper safety instruction is given before operating any equipment.
  • Properly uses equipment and tools provided by the hotel so we eliminate injuries and prevent accidents.
  • Properly uses Personal Protective Equipment as specified during training.

$19.00 - $20.00 per hour
