Maintenance Specialist

General Job Summary:

Reporting to the Property Manager, the Maintenance Specialist will support the maintenance, repairs, upkeep and appearance of the camp buildings, grounds, vehicles, and equipment and will support housekeeping as needed and for day-off coverage for housekeeping staff at Camp Seneca Lake. Support and demonstrate the mission, purpose, image, and core values of the Jewish Community Center of Greater Rochester and Camp Seneca Lake.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Maintenance Support the maintenance, upkeep of buildings, grounds, equipment, vehicles, and roads by performing the "hands-on" work needed through-out the year. Perform preventative and corrective maintenance functions for the camp. Commitment to availability and responsiveness for on-call maintenance needs. Maintain property to meet the requirements for New York State Health Department and American Camping Association. Ensure all facilities and the grounds are safe for campers and staff. Maintain a high quality of cleanliness in all facilities. Logistics Support the Assistant Director in opening/closing day luggage moving and logistics, including pick up and drop off luggage in Rochester Support maintenance team in moving campers' luggage within camp during drop off to appropriate villages Other Attend required meetings or training. Perform other duties as assigned. Key Competencies for

Education:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.

Experience:

2+ years related experience or training Mechanical aptitude and experience with carpentry, electrical, or plumbing, preferred
