Maintenance Helper (1st Shift) ($20.00/hr.+) Job Description The Maintenance Helper supports the maintenance team with day-to-day facility upkeep, organization, and basic labor tasks. This role focuses on cleaning and organizing the facility, moving materials safely, and assisting with building and maintaining racking systems while using material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks. We are looking for an individual to start as soon as possible after interviewing. You will be trained into a Maintenance Technician. We offer weekly pay with overtime paying time and a half. Apply Today! Responsibilities Clean and organize the facility on a daily basis to maintain a safe and orderly work environment. Move materials throughout the facility using appropriate material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks. Build, assemble, and organize racking systems to support efficient storage and workflow. Assist the maintenance team with general facility maintenance tasks and projects. Support preventive maintenance activities by helping keep tools, equipment, and work areas clean and organized. Use basic hand tools and mechanical skills to assist with minor repairs or adjustments as directed. Follow all safety procedures and guidelines when operating equipment and handling materials. Collaborate with maintenance staff to prioritize tasks and ensure the facility remains in good working order. Help identify and report facility issues or maintenance needs to the appropriate team members. Essential Skills Experience working as a construction or maintenance laborer. Hands-on experience using material handling equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks. Ability to clean and organize materials and work areas effectively. Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort using common hand tools. Demonstrated experience in facility, building, or general maintenance is a strong plus. Ability to follow safety procedures and operate equipment responsibly. Capability to perform physical labor, including lifting, moving, and organizing materials. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in facility maintenance, building maintenance, or handyman work. Experience supporting preventive maintenance activities. Troubleshooting skills related to basic mechanical or facility issues. Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean and organized workspace. Willingness to learn and grow into a full-time maintenance-focused role. Ability to work effectively as part of a maintenance team and take direction well. Why Work Here? a first shift from 5:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with occasional Saturday work, and a second shift from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., which includes a shift differential. Daily work involves operating material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks, using hand tools, and performing physical labor in an active industrial setting. The environment emphasizes safety, teamwork, and maintaining a well-organized facility. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cleveland, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
