The City of Dublin offers seasonal maintenance job opportunities in many of our public service-oriented divisions. Pay Rate Information Starting pay rate for new hires is $17.00/hour Starting pay rate for new hires with a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is $20.40/hour Per our policy, employees are hired into the established wage structure and therefore pay is non-negotiable Returning employees will progress to the next step in our wage structure to receive a raise with each year of consecutive service Scheduling/Availability Working hours are M onday-Friday, 7am-3pm Ideal candidates will be available to work through December 2026 Short-term and long-term schedules are available up to 40 hours per week Continuing work may be available beyond December, dependent on work load and the approved budget Beyond the Paycheck Ohio Public Employee Retirement System (OPERS) enrollment and contributions Potential Public Student Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) eligibility Support through our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) 20% discount on classes and free textbooks at Franklin University Exercise room available on-site at the Service Center for employee use Employee recognition and appreciation events throughout the summer Discounted/free employee participation in select City events (Memorial Golf Tournament, Dublin Irish Festival, etc.) Uniforms provided Career mapping and growth opportunities Seasonal Maintenance Worker positions require working outdoors in all weather conditions, performing light to heavy manual labor and maintenance work, as well as operating a variety of hand tools and power equipment. The nature of this classification may subject the successful candidate to call-ins during emergencies and/or irregular shifts. Specific duties of the Solid Waste Division include, but are not limited to: Claw Chipper, Leaf Machine and Street Sweeper operation Power tool operation including chainsaw, circular saw and other light construction tools Supporting sustainability initiatives including food waste and Styrofoam collection Trash removal and equipment maintenance Assisting with community special events as needed Minimum Qualifications Possession of a valid driver's license Must be 18 years of age or older Preferred Qualifications Previous grounds maintenance, forestry, or horticulture experience H.S. Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent certificate Ph y sical Requirements Candidates must successfully complete and pass a physical ability/lift test as a condition of hire Physical strength, agility, and endurance to perform all essential functions Ability to transfer and carry heavy objects Ability to exert in excess of 75-125 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 50-100 lbs. of force frequently Ability to maneuver over/under equipment and in small work areas while performing essential functions Ability to dig, bend, lift, and work in confined spaces Ability to demonstrate dexterity in the use of hands and feet Ability to walk long distances and/or work while standing for long periods of time Ability to perform tasks requiring stooping, bending, climbing ladders/stairs, etc. Ability to operate a variety of light and medium motorized vehicles Ability to work under emergency conditions in support of fire and police operations Ability to utilize appropriate protective clothing and equipment around hazardous chemicals/conditions Ability to utilize necessary protective clothing and equipment to avoid potential dangers from pesticides
