Clifton has served the armor plate market for over forty years and is the premier industry supplier of many of its commercial products. The Company is a specialist in abrasion and impact resistant steel fabrication, particularly for quenched and tempered alloy and manganese steel. As a result of investments in production capabilities, access to critical materials and strong customer relationships, Clifton has established a defensible and sustainable market position. What You Will Do/Need (Job Summary The Maintenance Specialist troubleshoots, repairs, performs executes daily maintenance tasks and preventive maintenance on our manufacturing equipment. Must be familiar with electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems. The Maintenance Specialist will assist with production line installations, capital projects as well as working closely with subcontractors selected for any repair or installation. They will take immediate direction and daily responsibilities from the Assistant Plant Manager. Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Responsibilities) Ensure the highest safety standards are developed, met and maintained for all equipment, processes and facilities. Maintain plant equipment and facilities with proven abilities in the following: mechanical, hydraulic and electrical. Provides support within the maintenance department in proactive improvement of equipment uptime and building maintenance. Knowledge of wiring diagrams, schematics and combustion controls. Troubleshoot both electrical and mechanical equipment to minimize downtime. Maintain critical spare parts inventory to minimize downtime. Perform preventative maintenance (PM's) on electrical cabinets, controls, mechanical equipment, and forklifts to reduce frequency and cost of downtime. Regular use of Company Epicor PM Module Safety experience including lock out tag out and confined space experience. Maintain a clean and orderly workplace in the maintenance department Recommend solutions to equipment failures to reduce breakdowns. Follow-up on maintenance work orders to ensure problem resolution. Perform work following defined work procedures and safety protocols with limited supervision. Assist in the layout and installations of new equipment for projects or relocation of any equipment. Work closely with subcontractors for repairs/PM's on furnaces, blasting equipment, plasma/oxy-fuel cutting, CNC machining and overhead cranes. Ensure maintenance work meets all applicable code requirements. This position may direct plant employees, when necessary, in addition to training in the safe operation of equipment or solicit and oversee their help during repairs. Ability to operate aerial lifts and work in high places Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required) 3+ years of industrial, electrical/mechanical maintenance work in an industrial/manufacturing environment. Working knowledge of electrical diagnostics and repair, as well as an understanding of related code regulations. Ability to operate cranes, lift trucks/tow motors Working knowledge of Combustion Furnaces, Repair and Controller Operation. Proven experience in the correction of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems. What Will Make You Special (Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) Problem solving, follow up, follow through with excellence. Journeyman, Millwright industrial, electrical, mechanical maintenance work in an industrial/manufacturing environment Working knowledge of PLC's, Servo and AC/DC drives. Good communication skills Knowledge of Microsoft Office Characteristics of the Position (Competencies) Be a team player Be able to communicate well and be affective working in a Union environment Be a creative thinker and strive to improve processes on the shop floor Physical Demands and Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work Schedule consists of four 10-hour shifts, Monday through Thursday Available shift options include 12:00 PM - 10:00 PM or 2:00 PM - 12:00 AM Initial training period will be conducted on 1st shift for approximately 90-120 days before transitioning to the assigned schedule Travel Little to no travel will be required.
