Job Description

Country Club of the North is seeking a reliable, motivated, and mechanically skilled Assistant Equipment Manager to join our Golf Course Maintenance team. This position plays an important role in the daily success of the golf course by helping maintain, repair, and prepare the equipment used to deliver championship-level course conditions. The ideal candidate takes pride in doing things the right way, works well as part of a team, and understands that dependable equipment is critical to the entire operation. This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanic who enjoys problem-solving, working with their hands, and being part of a hardworking team in a professional private club environment. Key Responsibilities Assist with the maintenance, repair, and service of golf course maintenance equipment, utility vehicles, small engines, mowers, tractors, carts, and related tools. Perform preventative maintenance, including oil changes, lubrication, filter replacement, inspections, adjustments, and routine service. Help diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and engine-related issues. Assist with mower setup, blade sharpening, reel adjustments, height-of-cut checks, and quality-of-cut inspections. Maintain accurate service records and communicate equipment needs clearly to the Equipment Manager and Golf Course Superintendent. Help keep the maintenance shop clean, organized, safe, and professional. Support the grounds team when needed with equipment operation, projects, course setup, and general maintenance. Assist in managing parts, supplies, fluids, tools, and shop inventory. Follow all safety procedures and help maintain a culture of accountability and teamwork.

Preferred Experience Experience repairing golf course maintenance equipment, turf equipment, agricultural equipment, construction equipment, small engines, vehicles, or similar machinery. Knowledge of gasoline and diesel engines. Basic understanding of hydraulic and electrical systems. Experience with reel and rotary mower maintenance is a plus. Welding, fabrication, or grinding experience is a plus. Valid driver's license required. Physical Requirements Ability to lift 50 pounds. Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work with tools for extended periods. Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to safely operate maintenance equipment and vehicles. Compensation and Benefits Competitive hourly pay based on experience. Full-time, year-round position. Golf privileges per club policy.
