Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Worker to join our dynamic facilities team. This role involves performing a wide range of maintenance, landscaping, and groundskeeping tasks to ensure the safety, functionality, and aesthetic appeal of our property and city streets. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, hands-on experience with various tools and equipment, and a proactive approach to maintaining outdoor and indoor environments. This position offers an opportunity to contribute significantly to the upkeep and beautification of our premises through skilled craftsmanship and diligent work. Responsibilities Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on buildings, equipment, and grounds to identify issues early and ensure operational efficiency Perform landscaping duties including lawn care, mowing, tree trimming, gardening, and landscape maintenance to enhance outdoor aesthetics Utilize hand tools, power tools, and heavy machinery such as excavators for construction, hardscape installation, or repair projects Maintain irrigation systems and implement watering schedules to support healthy plant growth Execute snow plowing and de-icing procedures during winter months to ensure safe access pathways Carry out tree care activities including pruning, trimming, and removal in accordance with safety standards Support general maintenance tasks such as repairing fixtures, installing new equipment, or replacing damaged components Repairing and maintaining city streets, repair street signs. Qualifications Must have experience with half-ton trucks, one-ton trucks, dump trucks, back hoe, skid loader, tractors, snow plow attachments, sander attachments, brush hog mower attachments, mowers, weed eaters, chain saws, rock saw, leaf blowers, hedge trimmer, cutting torch, jac hammer, nail gun, grinder, buffer, table saw, paint gun, shovels, pole saws, hand saws, pumps, sewer jetter, compressor, portable genereators, common hand and power tools, two-way radio, telephone, and personal computers. High School Diploma or GED equivilant. Ability to work in the elements. Experience in street and or park maintenance. Some experience knowledge of Public Works aspects, streets maintenance, storm sewer infrastructure maintenance. Basic knowledge of equipment, facilities, materials, methods, and procedures used in cemetery systems. Must have Valid Oklahoma Drivers License. Must have or be willing to get class B CDL and or air brake endorsement within 6 months of employment.
