Landscape Maintenance Worker

Duties Mow lawns, trim edges, and perform turf care using power tools such as mowers, trimmers, and blowers to maintain pristine grass areas. Prune trees, shrubs, and hedges with hand tools or power equipment to promote healthy growth and enhance landscape aesthetics. Install and repair irrigation systems to ensure proper watering of lawns and gardens, supporting healthy plant development. Conduct landscape maintenance tasks including planting flowers, mulching beds, and applying fertilizers to improve soil quality. Operate heavy machinery such as excavators for landscaping projects or hardscape installations like patios or walkways. Perform snow plowing and de-icing during winter months to keep pathways safe and accessible. Maintain landscaping equipment through routine inspections, cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs to ensure optimal performance. Requirements Basic mechanical knowledge for maintaining hand tools, power tools, and small machinery. Experience with lawn care practices including mowing, edging, fertilizing, and pest control. Knowledge of landscape maintenance techniques such as pruning, planting, irrigation installation, and hardscape work. Ability to operate landscaping equipment like trimmers, blowers, mowers, excavators, and snow plows safely and effectively. Familiarity with horticulture principles including plant selection, tree care (trimming and health assessment), gardening techniques, and soil management. Strong work ethic with the ability to follow safety protocols in construction or landscaping environments.
