THE POSITION
As a seasonal Park Maintenance Worker with the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, you will support beautiful outdoor spaces for Park Region 1 Regional Office. This position gives you the opportunity to learn valuable hands-on skills while helping parks stay safe and welcoming. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this position, you will support the general upkeep and improvement of park grounds, buildings, and equipment for Region 1. You will combine hands-on maintenance tasks with customer service to ensure parks remain safe, clean, and welcoming for visitors. As a seasonal Park Maintenance Worker, you will perform the following duties:
General Maintenance:
Perform routine repairs and upkeep on park buildings, facilities, and grounds
Equipment Operation:
Operate and care for vehicles, tools, and machinery used in daily maintenance tasks
Grounds Care:
Mow grass, cut weeds, plant vegetation, and maintain trees and shrubs throughout the park
Construction Support:
Assist with simple carpentry, cement work, and other semi skilled construction tasks
Visitor Assistance:
Provide helpful information and support to park visitors in a friendly manner
Recordkeeping:
Complete daily logs, mileage sheets, and other required forms and records
General Housekeeping:
Clean, supply, and make repairs to restrooms, offices, and other buildings. Interested in learning more? Additional details regarding this position can be found in the position description.
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
This is a seasonal, full-time position with no healthcare benefits. There is not an option to buy into health care benefits. The season runs from approximately March 2026 until November 2026 at which time the employee will be placed on leave without pay. The employee will automatically be returned to employment March 2027. Typical work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with a 30-minute lunch. Work shifts and days will vary. The employee will work 37.5 hours per week across 5 days, which may include weekends and holidays. Overtime may be required. Travel may be required

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
One year of experience in laboring work including the use of tools and equipment used in maintenance or construction; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Conditions of Employment:
This position requires possession of a valid PA non-commercial Class C driver's license or equivalent.
