THE POSITION
The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources is seeking a skilled and dependable Park Maintenance Worker to join the team at Bendigo State Park and Kinzua Bridge State Park. This hands-on role is essential to keeping park grounds, facilities, and infrastructure in excellent condition. You will perform a variety of maintenance tasks, including light carpentry, basic plumbing, and general upkeep of buildings and outdoor areas. The position requires the ability to perform physical labor and work in a range of weather conditions, making it a great fit for individuals who enjoy active, outdoor work. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this role, you will support the maintenance and upkeep of the Bendigo State Park Complex by performing a mix of semi-skilled tasks. You will work both independently and alongside skilled trades staff to ensure park facilities, grounds, and amenities remain safe, clean, and welcoming for visitors. Duties and Responsibilities Perform semi-skilled maintenance and construction tasks, including basic carpentry, electrical, and plumbing repairs to park buildings and facilities. Clean sanitary facilities in pool, picnic, boating, day-use, office, and maintenance areas using appropriate cleaning tools and materials. Assist with pool operations, including surface repairs, painting, cleaning, and general upkeep. Install park amenities such as picnic grills and benches, including digging holes and mixing concrete for proper placement. Paint or stain park signs, buildings, tanks, and equipment by removing old finishes and applying new coatings. Support skilled trades staff with tasks such as cutting lumber, mixing concrete, sanding materials, and assisting with building renovations. Operate chainsaws, chippers, mowers, tractors, and other equipment to maintain park grounds, remove hazardous trees, and complete seasonal tasks such as snow removal. Pick up litter, prune trees along roads and trails, and maintain clean, safe park grounds. Operate motor vehicles to travel between work sites and ensure proper care and safe use of all tools, vehicles, and equipment. Work Schedule and Additional Information:
This is a seasonal, full-time position with no healthcare benefits. There is not an option to buy into health care benefits. The season runs from approximately March 2026 until November 2026 at which time the employee will be placed on leave without pay. The employee will automatically be returned to employment approximately March 2027. Work schedule will vary. Work will be scheduled 5 days/37.5 hours per week and will include a 30-minute lunch. Work may be scheduled on weekends, holidays, and all shifts as needed.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
One year of experience in laboring work including the use of tools and equipment used in maintenance or construction; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
