The position of Maintenance Technician is pivotal in ensuring the overall maintenance and functionality of our facility. In this role, you will undertake a variety of tasks that encompass general maintenance and repair, while also assisting in other general maintenance tasks, such as electrical, plumbing, and building repairs. You will contribute to creating a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained environment for our facility and its occupants.
Responsibilities:
Ability to interpret blueprints and specifications
Work in a variety of different disciplines - Plumbing, mechanics, painting, dry wall repairs, landscaping, light carpentry, pneumatics, pipe fitting, tile repair, etc.
Conduct routine inspections of premise and equipment to ensure desired results while controlling costs
Perform preventive maintenance as necessary
Handle basic repairs in maintenance and exterior groundwork Provide quotes for projects
Respond to work order tickets in a prompt manner; close out tickets as completed
Work with co-workers in a professional manner; build credibility and trust
Diagnose issues and report to supervision on method to correct them
Maintain and support the company's recycling and trash program
Perform tasks to company standards to efficiently and effectively meet department goals
Take initiative to improve ways work is completed and find solutions to improve productivity
Keep a clean, organized, and safe workspace, including tools and equipment
Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures
Attend meetings, seminars, and training sessions as required
Perform assigned duties according to the policies and expectations prescribed by the company
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
3+ years of experience as a Maintenance Technician or similar role
Ability to use and be trained/certified in forklift and scissor lift
Knowledgeable and skilled in the usage of various hand and power tools
Capability to take apart machines, equipment or devices to remove and replace defective parts
Ability to troubleshoot using basic problem-solving techniques
Versed in general maintenance processes
Ability to be on call is required for this position
Flexibility with work schedule, including some holidays and alternate shifts are required; ability to work additional hours, beyond standard schedule, in any given week as needed. Overtime may be needed for this role to meet
Availability for some on-call work is required
Working Conditions and Physical Effort:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is required to frequently walk, bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat, stoop, and kneel each day. Specific requirements are:
Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
Must be able to lift or move 50 lbs.
Must be able to carry 50 lbs.
Must be able to pull or push 50 lbs.
Work conditions may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements such as dirt, dust, fumes, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
May work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks which require following basic safety precautions.
Must be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to work within or visit areas where required. This includes safety glasses, reflective vest, ear plugs, safety toed shoes, and other PPE as required by the location.
