Job Description
Document Collection and Destruction Assist with the collect of confidential documents from designated shredding bins and secure collection locations throughout MMC facilities. Transport confidential materials safely and securely to designated shredding areas. Operate shredding equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications and safety procedures. Process documents for destruction. Ensure all confidential materials are completely destroyed prior to disposal or recycling. Assist departments with special shredding projects and large-volume destruction requests. Maintain accurate records of shredding activities and destruction volumes as required. Equipment Operation & Maintenance Perform daily inspections of shredding equipment and associated systems. Conduct routine preventative maintenance including cleaning, lubrication, adjustment, and minor repairs. Monitor equipment performance and report operational issues promptly. Troubleshoot minor equipment malfunctions and coordinate vendor service when necessary. Maintain inventory of equipment supplies, lubricants, and replacement parts. Keep shredding areas clean, organized, and safe. Collection Support Assist with placement, replacement, and maintenance of shredding containers throughout MMC facilities. Respond to departmental requests for additional collection bins or special pickups. Coordinate collection schedules to ensure bins do not exceed capacity. Assist with loading, unloading, and transportation of shredding materials. Support off-site facility shredding collection activities as assigned. Safety and Compliance Follow all Meadville Medical Center policies, HIPAA requirements, and confidentiality standards. Adhere to OSHA safety regulations and departmental safety procedures. Utilize proper lifting techniques and material handling practices. Report safety hazards, incidents, and equipment concerns promptly. Participate in required safety, compliance, and departmental training programs. General Department Support Assist Facilities Engineering personnel with departmental projects and activities as assigned. Support recycling and waste management initiatives when needed. Maintain professional relationships with staff, vendors, and contractors. Perform other duties as assigned by management.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
High school diploma, GED or equivalent gained through previous experience. Use of personal vehicle with mileage reimbursement provided may be required. Must be a safe, licensed, insured driver in the state of Pennsylvania and current evidence of same must be on file at all times. Ability to use independent judgment, working with minimal supervision.
