Full-Time Maintenance Person

QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma or equivalent. Trade School Certificate preferred. Demonstrate experience or competence in mechanical and electrical systems, HVAC, plumbing systems, buildings and grounds, and preventive maintenance. GOALS Perform maintenance and repairs, as needed, to the electrical, mechanical and plumbing systems. Perform general repairs to building components and contents. Interact and maintain good communication with supervisors, principals, teachers and support staff. Maintain and improve grounds, including athletic fields. Assist with maintaining/cleaning the Fieldhouse facility.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Perform installation and repairs to various mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems (120/240V single phase and 277/480V 3-phase electrical systems). Layout, mark and maintain all J/S High athletic fields. Maintain/mow J/S High campus grounds and service mowing equipment. Assist in snow removal during winter months. Routine cleaning and upkeep of Fieldhouse facility. Ability to operate District equipment. Perform other job related duties as assigned.

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS

Physical Demands Frequently travel to school District buildings. Frequently walk through various buildings. Stand for extended periods of time. Frequently use ladders, scaffolds and mechanical lifts for gaining access. Lift from 50-100 lbs. Carry up to 100 lbs. Manual dexterity to use tools and power equipment. Repetitive movement of fingers and hands. Ability to perform duties from ladders and lifts. Flexibility to work overtime and occasionally be called in after hours (evenings/weekends). Sensory Abilities Visual acuity to read maintenance manuals and associated literature. Auditory acuity to be able to work around mechanical equipment. Ability to speak clearly and distinctly. Work Environment Indoor/Outdoor all seasons, including inclement weather. Temperament Ability to work as a member of a team. Must be courteous, cooperative, congenial and service oriented. Ability to work in an environment with frequent interruptions. Cognitive Ability Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to work independently and make work related decisions. Ability to complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision. Ability to follow written and verbal directions. Specific Skills Ability to operate maintenance, landscaping and mowing equipment. Ability to operate power tools. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics and O&M manuals. Licenses Valid Pennsylvania driver's license. PA Pesticide Applicator License (or obtain within 90 days)
