Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Facilities Manager to oversee the maintenance and operations of our facilities. As a Facilities Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe functioning of our school and church buildings and equipment. This is a key leadership role that requires strong technical knowledge and excellent organizational skills.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of our facilities, including cleaning, maintenance, repairs, and upgrades.
Primarily after school/evening hours. Lock and unlock doors. Turn on/off lights. Clean bathrooms, offices, classrooms, hallways, gymnasium, etc. Vacuum all rugs and carpet areas. Empty all trash cans. Check restrooms and other areas for supplies. Order and maintain supplies. Collect mail from mailbox. Extract carpet as needed. Mow some areas of grass as directed. Maintain all planting beds around the school and church. Arrange for someone to be available to answer any alarms. Clear snow as needed. Make any needed repairs.
- Supervise custodial staff, providing guidance and support as needed
- Coordinate with external contractors for specialized repairs or projects
- Conduct regular inspections to identify areas for improvement and address any safety concerns. Complete maintenance request forms as they are submitted.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment manuals, and warranties
- Monitor janitorial supplies including, toilet paper, paper towels, soaps, etc submitting timely order requests to ensure supplies are available
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure that facilities meet the needs of the organization
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in facilities management
- Any other duties that may be assigned
Skills:
- Strong mechanical knowledge, general "handyman" knowledge and capabilities
- Knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Proven experience in supervising custodial staff
- Ability to fabricate or repair equipment as needed
