This position is a combination of cleaning/janitorial work and light maintenance responsibilities to help keep our property clean, safe, and welcoming for residents and guests.
Responsibilities Include:
Cleaning & Janitorial Duties Clean and maintain common areas throughout the apartment community Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain floors Empty trash receptacles and replace liners Clean and sanitize public restrooms and replenish supplies Dust furniture, fixtures, railings, and surfaces Clean windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces Clean and maintain trash rooms and dumpster areas Maintain cleanliness of laundry rooms, offices, hallways, and community spaces Follow cleaning schedules and complete tasks in a timely manner Light Maintenance Duties Replace light bulbs, batteries, and air filters Perform basic painting and touch-ups Plunge toilets and address minor plumbing issues such as unclogging sinks and tubs Replace toilet seats and other small fixtures Perform exterior grounds upkeep including weeding and litter removal Operate trash compactors and switch wheeled dumpsters as needed Report larger maintenance issues to management or maintenance staff Assist with apartment turns and other property projects as needed
Requirements:
Previous janitorial, apartment, maintenance, or commercial cleaning experience preferred Ability to perform both cleaning and basic maintenance tasks independently Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and equipment operation Ability to operate floor care equipment such as buffers and vacuums Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining a clean community Ability to lift, bend, stand, and perform physical work throughout the day Good time management and organizational skills Reliable transportation and dependability are a must This position requires someone who enjoys variety in their workday and takes pride in keeping an apartment community looking its best. No two days are exactly the same, and teamwork is essential.
