Maintenance Assistant & Grounds

The Maintenance Assistant supports the property management and maintenance team in maintaining a clean, safe, and well-functioning community. This role focuses on routine upkeep, unit turns, and general maintenance support tasks to ensure all common areas and residential units meet company standards. Responsibilities Empty trash and dispose of waste from common areas and residential units Remove and clear out debris, furniture, and garbage from vacant units during turnovers Replace furnace filters on a scheduled basis Replace light bulbs, batteries, and minor fixtures as needed Clean common areas including hallways, stairwells, laundry rooms, and exterior spaces Assist with apartment unit turns, including basic cleaning and preparation for new residents Perform minor repairs such as tightening hardware, patching small holes, and basic touch-ups Maintain exterior grounds including litter pickup, sweeping, and basic landscaping assistance Report maintenance issues or safety concerns to the maintenance supervisor promptly Assist with inventory and organization of maintenance supplies and equipment Support preventative maintenance tasks and inspections Assist in snow removal, salting, and seasonal property upkeep Follow all safety procedures and company policies Qualifications Basic knowledge of general maintenance and cleaning practices preferred Ability to use basic hand tools and equipment Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy items (up to 50 lbs) Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team Valid driver's license preferred Compensation$16 - $20 hourly

$16.00 - $20.00 per hour
