Job Description

MAINTENANCE/CUSTODIAL WORKER JOB SUMMARY
Seton LaSalle Catholic High School is seeking a dedicated school maintenance/custodial worker to maintain a clean, safe, and fully functional learning environment and campus for our students, staff, and visitors, including the school building, grounds, and athletics fields/buildings. This role bridges daytime operational support with evening cleaning routines. This individual will handle daily sanitization, manage afternoon event setups, and perform routine minor building maintenance and repairs.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
School Sanitation:
Deep-clean restrooms, sanitize high-touch surfaces, and restock supplies daily.
Daily Maintenance:
Sweep, mop, vacuum, and wax cafeteria and hallway floors after high-traffic lunch periods.
Waste Management:
Collect and empty cafeteria, classroom, and office trash and recycling.
Minor Repairs:
Fix simple plumbing leaks, replace lightbulbs, patch drywall, and paint trim as needed.
Groundskeeping:
Keep school entrances clear of debris. Shovel snow and apply ice-melt during winter weather.
Event Setup & Flexibility:
Arrange chairs, tables, and equipment for assemblies, sports, or evening school functions.
Emergency Response:
Remain flexible to adjust hours or assist with facility emergencies and severe-weather cleanup.
Safety Compliance:
Secure building doors, report major hazards, and handle cleaning chemicals.

$17.00 - $20.00 per hour
