  • 6/3/2026 Key Responsibilities Principle Duties This is a journey level job.
Incumbents perform a wide variety of skilled maintenance/construction duties requiring independent ability to organize and complete maintenance or construction projects, including technical consultation and limited design work, materials and cost estimates, plus compliance with applicable codes.
A Journey Maintenance Specialist may:
Troubleshoots and diagnoses problems, makes adjustments, repairs and/or performs preventative maintenance on computers, vehicles, equipment, or machinery, etc. Provides technical consultation to originators of project job orders, including development of project plans and related estimates. Builds, fabricates, or repairs structures, equipment, and/or miscellaneous articles from verbal instructions, blueprints and/or working drawings. Welds, solders, brazes, grinds, and/or fabricates various materials. Paints, finishes and refinishes wood, metal and other materials. Performs general facility maintenance including painting, carpentry, masonry, plumbing, electrical, as well as general cleaning and sanitation. Performs related plumbing, mechanical, painting and pipe fitting, etc., duties. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications The best qualified candidate for this position will have 3 or more years of experience in facility/building maintenance. Preferred Qualifications Additional points will be awarded to candidates with experience in: Electrical systems. Heating and cooling systems. Culinary and waste water piping systems. Reading schematic drawings. Working with computer controls Supplemental Information Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, work in confined areas, bend and crouch and work with hazardous chemicals. Must be able to see and hear. Must be available for On Call. About the Role Location
