Maintenance Worker II Sanitation/Brush Pickup

The City of Clemson is seeking to fill the position of Maintenance Worker II for the Sanitation department. This position, under regular supervision, operates and performs garbage collection on a variety of medium and heavy equipment trucks utilized in Sanitation activities. Reports to a Public Works Supervisor.

Operates trucks of various sizes and weights in the loading, hauling and unloading of roadside trash. Operates heavy equipment and trucks under a variety of conditions performing required work tasks in a safe and effective manner. Performs all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards. Operates equipment and vehicles in proper manner, in the performance of those tasks for which it was intended for use, and within established city safety policy. Requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent with two years experience involving the use of medium and heavy trucks and equipment; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Must have a valid South Carolina driver's license and commercial driver's license, or ability to obtain one within six (6) months. Applications accepted online at www.cityofclemson.org .
