Job Description
Facility Services Technician Department:
Maintenance Position Summary The Facility Services Technician is responsible for supporting the overall operational maintenance of agency facilities and equipment. This role ensures that buildings, grounds, and related systems are maintained in a safe, functional, and efficient manner. Education Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Strong verbal and written communication skills Valid South Carolina driver's license Ability to work effectively with coworkers and the general public Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks Ability to clearly and concisely communicate ideas Working knowledge of computer programs General knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical systems, plumbing, carpentry, and related maintenance trades Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform facility repairs as assigned through work order requests, including carpentry, painting, appliance installation, minor electrical repairs, plumbing, and related maintenance tasks. Evaluate the scope and complexity of maintenance requests to determine when outside vendors are required; coordinate with Materials Management to procure services in accordance with procurement policies. Complete and properly submit work order documentation and related paperwork upon task completion. Monitor and assist in maintaining water heaters, heating, and air conditioning systems to ensure appropriate temperature levels are maintained in accordance with policy, including during extreme weather and building opening/closing procedures. Assist with inspections of fire alarm systems, security systems, and fire extinguishers to ensure proper operation and compliance. Support transportation maintenance and perform preventive maintenance checks on agency vehicles on a weekly basis. Adhere to all agency policies, standards, and procedures, particularly those related to safety, transportation, and facility operations. Provide transportation assistance for agency personnel during inclement weather as needed. Lift and move heavy furniture, equipment, boxes, and other materials as required. Assist with building cleanliness and floor care, including mopping, stripping, buffing, and trash removal as needed. Participate in on-call rotation and respond to maintenance emergencies. Perform additional related duties as assigned by the Director of Facility Services.Pay:
