Job Description
The Property Management department is seeking a qualified Safety Officer to support facility operations through preventive maintenance, skilled repair work, and ongoing safety compliance. This position plays a vital role in ensuring our facilities are well-maintained, safe, and in full compliance with ADA, OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory standards. Candidate will have hands-on experience in a variety of trades and demonstrate a solid understanding of safety inspection procedures, maintenance protocols, and construction standards. Duties include Conduct routine safety inspections, including but not limited to: Fire suppression systems; Eye wash stations; Facility infrastructure and general safety hazards and Janitorial. Perform skilled maintenance and repair work in: HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and painting. Interpret and follow work orders, blueprints, and technical plans; maintain records of inspections, repairs, and safety checks; operate tools and equipment related to building maintenance safely and effectively. Collaborate with team members of work independently on projects; respond to maintenance emergencies and complete assigned work within required timeframes; work in varied environmental and weather conditions as needed. High school diploma or equivalent; supplement with technical or vocational training preferred. Extensive experience in general facility maintenance and repair; strong understanding of OSHA, ADA, and EPA regulations. Ability to read blueprints, technical documents, and safety standards; must possess a valid South Carolina Driver's License. Must pass background check, fingerprinting, and drug screening; ability to lift, push or pull objects up to 50 pounds, bend, stand, and perform physical tasks regularly. Must be able to work in both team and independent settings; equivalent combinations of education, certifications, and experience will be considered.
