This position is day shift Monday through Friday 8 a.m. -4:30 p.m.
Summary :
Performs skilled building maintenance tasks in the areas of electrical, plumbing, finish carpentry, refrigeration, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, painting, locksmith, and preventive maintenance to provide for the continued, safe, and efficient operation of the facility and associated areas.
Licenses and Certifications:
Possess or the ability to obtain a valid Driver's license.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
The ideal candidate will have knowledge of methods and practices of general building and facility maintenance, construction trades, and tools and equipment associated with the duties of the position.
Knowledge of:
Repairing or replacing plumbing lines and fixtures in buildings or facilities. Installing new or replacing damaged fixtures in buildings.
Skill to:
Perform skilled building maintenance tasks in electrical, plumbing, finish carpentry, HVAC, painting, and preventative maintenance to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the facility. Conduct preventative maintenance inspections on parts, equipment, and structures. Perform predictive and preventive maintenance on HVAC systems to ensure continued operation of heating, ventilation, and air‑conditioning equipment. Build or remodel the interior and exterior of buildings to meet maintenance needs and complete work orders. Complete required reports and records to verify costs associated with tasks and to account for work activities. Perform general maintenance duties. Perform other work as assigned.
Ability to:
Communicate clearly and concisely. Follow instructions. Deal tactfully and professionally with others. Complete tasks in a timely and accurate manner. Operate required tools and equipment. Lift 50 pounds or more. Work from ladders and scaffolding. Assist with snow removal using a shovel or heavy equipment. Work occasional shift changes to support coverage of boiler equipment. This position is eligible for Veterans' Preference per ARSD 55:10:02:08. Successful applicant(s) will undergo an abuse and neglect screening.
