Job Description

TITLE:
General Maintenance Worker
QUALIFICATIONS
1. High School Diploma or G.E.D preferred 2. Formal training in maintenance skills preferred 3. Experience in maintenance desirable 4. Must be neat in appearance, and of high moral character 5. Current valid Tennessee driver's license
REPORTS TO
Maintenance Supervisor
JOB GOAL
To help maintain the physical school plant in a condition of operating excellence so that full educational use of it may be made at all times.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
1.
HVAC TEC/EPA
Card or TCAT Certification or Equivalent Certification. 2. Does electrical repair and installation of switches, receptacles, etc. 3. Works on electrical equipment and water heaters. 4. Installs controls in sewer plant panels, air conditioners, heaters etc. 5 Does plumbing repair and installation. 6. Performs carpentry work and repair. 7. Does roofing repair, guttering and painting. 8. Repairs broken windows and doors. 9. Lays block and brick for minor jobs and repair. 10. Constructs forms and pours concrete for walks, ramps, etc. 11. Installs light bulbs and ballasts. 12. Welds equipment, structures, etc. 13. Repairs and Installs flooring. 14. Repairs and installs some classroom equipment, bulletin boards, etc. 15. Is on-call for emergency service calls when needed after school hours, on weekends, holiday closings. 16. Performs other duties as directed by Maintenance Supervisor and/or Director of schools. 17. Care for tools, equipment, and vehicles being used daily. 18. Meet the necessary health and physical qualifications. 19. Complete satisfactory background check required by the Tennessee Department of Education and State law.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Twelve month year. Wages and work year to be established by the Board.
