We are seeking a dependable, compassionate, and motivated Resource Assistant to help create a welcoming, safe, and supportive environment for our neighbors experiencing homelessness. Position Overview The Resource Assistant plays a vital role in the daily operations of VMC's Resource Center by supporting neighbors, assisting volunteers and meal groups, monitoring shared spaces, and helping maintain a safe and respectful campus environment. The ideal candidate is calm under pressure, observant, organized, and passionate about helping people from diverse backgrounds. Key Responsibilities Welcome and monitor neighbors entering and leaving campus Build rapport with neighbors while promoting encouragement, accountability, and respect Assist with oversight of laundry facilities and common areas Support volunteer meal groups and prepare meals when needed Maintain awareness of building conditions and report maintenance concerns Help create a safe, clean, and supportive environment for all visitors and staff Participate in staff meetings and collaborate with team members Respond appropriately and professionally during crisis situations What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent Genuine interest in working with individuals experiencing homelessness Strong observation skills and situational awareness Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment Strong communication and problem-solving skills Dependable, punctual, and professional demeanor Preferred Strengths Compassion balanced with accountability Ability to relate to a diverse group of people Calmness and composure under pressure Attention to detail and organizational skills Work Schedule This is a full-time position with the following schedule: Monday -

Flexibility will be needed to support morning meal groups and special VMC events.
