Job Description

Overview We are seeking a proactive and skilled Building Maintenance Technician to ensure the optimal operation and safety of our facilities. This energetic role involves performing a wide range of maintenance tasks, troubleshooting issues, and supporting the overall functionality of our buildings. The ideal candidate will bring a strong mechanical aptitude, electrical experience, and excellent customer service skills to keep our facilities running smoothly and efficiently. Duties Conduct routine inspections of building systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical components to identify issues early and prevent downtime. Perform repairs and maintenance on equipment, fixtures, and infrastructure using skills in welding, electrical work, and mechanical troubleshooting. Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams to accurately diagnose problems and implement solutions. Operate programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and ohmmeters to test electrical circuits and automate building systems. Execute residential painting projects as needed to maintain aesthetic standards across the facility. Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to document work orders, track maintenance history, and schedule preventative tasks. Supervise or assist with facilities maintenance projects, ensuring safety protocols are followed and quality standards are met. Support manufacturing or production areas by maintaining equipment uptime through prompt repairs and proactive upkeep. Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to internal requests for maintenance support and communicating effectively with team members. Experience Proven experience in facilities maintenance or building repair roles, ideally within manufacturing or industrial environments. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with electrical experience; familiarity with schematics is essential. Hands-on welding skills along with the ability to operate tools such as ohmmeters and other diagnostic equipment. Experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for automation control systems. Supervising or leadership experience in maintenance teams is preferred but not required. Knowledge of CMMS software for managing work orders and maintenance records. Excellent communication skills in English to coordinate effectively with team members and vendors.
