Description Benefits Questions Duties and Responsibilities Essential Job Functions:

Responsible for maintenance of overall facility including sweeping floors, removing weeds, sweeping driveways; assist with shop and empties trash; washes equipment; operates powered sweeper; uses City truck to pick up repair parts; assists shop personnel in transporting vehicles to and from vendors; picks up and delivers documents to City Hall and other City departments; inspects, repairs and maintains physical plant equipment including car wash, pressure washers and compressors; monitors tool room; opens and closes shop.

Works indoors and outdoors in a variety of weather conditions; is exposed to chemical hazards and fumes/odors. Must be available to work 7:00 A.M. - 3:30 P.M., Monday through Friday and works overtime when necessary.

Minimum Essential Qualifications Knowledge :

Knowledge of the materials, practices, and methods used in shop maintenance.

Skills/Abilities:

Ability to work safely around machinery and heavy equipment; ability to use basic hand tools; ability to operate forklift and other construction equipment desirable; ability to read at high school level; ability to write legibly.

Physical Requirements:

Constantly sees and hears; frequently carries, lifts, pushes and pulls objects weighing up to 70 lbs., drives, squats, stoops, twists body; cleans, writes by hand, stands, walks; infrequently climbs, kneels, uses measuring equipment.

Education/Experience:

Completion of ten (10) school grades; one (1) year experience in maintenance and custodial work required. High school graduation or equivalent preferred. Other This position requires 100% onsite work. Must possess a valid Class C driver's license with a good driving record. Other state valid Driver's License equivalent to Texas Class C with a good driving record will be considered. Texas state law requires within 30 days of residency, you must possess a valid Texas driver's license.
