In this vital role, you will ensure the safety, functionality, and comfort of the residence by performing routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections across the facility. Your expertise will help create a welcoming environment for residents and staff alike, supporting the smooth operation of daily activities. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your mechanical, electrical, and facilities maintenance skills in a meaningful setting where compassion meets technical excellence. Duties Conduct regular inspections of the building's mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems to identify issues early and prevent disruptions. Perform repairs using welding techniques, electrical troubleshooting, and mechanical knowledge to maintain optimal facility operations. Utilize schematics and technical diagrams to diagnose problems accurately and implement effective solutions. Operate tools such as ohmmeters and other testing equipment to assess electrical systems' integrity. Manage maintenance requests through Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to track work orders and ensure timely completion. Assist with residential painting projects and other facility upgrades to enhance the environment for residents. Supervise or coordinate with contractors or team members during specialized tasks like welding or electrical work, ensuring safety protocols are followed. Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs for compliance and future reference. Support emergency response efforts by performing quick repairs or safety checks as needed, ensuring resident safety at all times. Experience Proven experience in facilities maintenance within residential or healthcare settings is preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in welding, electrical systems, schematics interpretation, and troubleshooting. Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) used in building automation systems is advantageous. Experience with CMMS software for maintenance tracking is highly desirable. Demonstrated supervisory or leadership skills in managing maintenance projects or teams. Knowledge of residential painting techniques and general building upkeep practices. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively in English with team members and external contractors. Ability to use testing tools such as ohmmeters and interpret technical diagrams confidently.
