Job Description

Maintenance Worker Immanuel Lutheran Church, School, and ECC Position Focus:
Maintenance with some custodial support
Campus Scope:
Church, School, ECC, grounds, and related facilities Position Summary Immanuel Lutheran Church, School, and ECC is seeking a dependable and capable Maintenance Worker to care for and maintain the entire campus. This position is primarily responsible for building maintenance, preventative maintenance, grounds care, and general repairs. The role will also include some custodial support as needed to help keep the campus clean, safe, and ready for daily use, special events, and ministry activities. Primary ResponsibilitiesMaintenance and Repairs Maintain the buildings and grounds of Immanuel Lutheran Church, School, and ECC. Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs throughout the campus. Complete preventative maintenance tasks on buildings, equipment, and facility systems. Assist with basic plumbing repairs, such as toilets, sinks, faucets, drains, and minor leaks. Assist with basic electrical tasks, such as changing light bulbs, replacing fixtures, checking outlets, and identifying minor issues. Monitor HVAC systems and report concerns when professional service is needed. Perform basic carpentry, painting, drywall repair, door repair, hardware replacement, and other general maintenance tasks. Maintain tools, supplies, equipment, maintenance areas, and storage spaces in an organized manner. Inspect buildings, classrooms, offices, restrooms, common areas, playgrounds, parking areas, and grounds for safety or repair needs. Respond to maintenance requests from church, school, and ECC staff in a timely and professional manner. Coordinate with outside contractors and service providers when needed. Grounds and Campus Care Perform lawn care and general groundskeeping. Trim, clean up outdoor areas, and help maintain a neat and welcoming campus appearance. Check sidewalks, entrances, playgrounds, parking areas, and outdoor spaces for safety concerns. Remove trash and debris from outdoor areas as needed. Event and Facility Setup Set up and take down tables, chairs, equipment, and other items for church, school, ECC, and community events. Prepare rooms and common areas for meetings, worship services, school functions, programs, and special events. Move furniture, supplies, and equipment as needed. Desired Experience and Skills The ideal candidate will have general maintenance experience and be comfortable performing preventative maintenance, basic repairs, grounds care, event setup, and occasional custodial support. Qualifications Dependable, trustworthy, and self-motivated Able to work independently and manage time well Willing to learn new skills Able to communicate clearly and respectfully Able to recognize when a repair requires outside professional service Attentive to detail Flexible and willing to assist where needed Supportive of the mission and values of Immanuel Lutheran Church, School, and ECC Physical Requirements Walking, standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, and climbing stairs Lifting and moving tables, chairs, trash bags, supplies, tools, and equipment Using ladders and basic maintenance tools safely Working indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions Lifting up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation Additional Requirements Because this position serves a church, school, and early childhood center campus, the candidate must be willing to complete all required background checks, safety training, and any other employment requirements. Position Type Full-time or part-time, depending on campus needs. Schedule may include occasional evenings, weekends, or special events, with prior notice. Compensation Compensation will be based on experience and qualifications.
Pay:
$16.00 - $19.00 per hour
