Texas Operator's License Ability to follow instructions in English (written and oral) Physically able to lift 50 pounds
Primary Purpose:
Help maintain the physical school plant in a condition of operating excellence so that full educational use of it may be made at all times.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist general maintenance personnel with assignments and projects. Perform duties as assigned with hand tools for general maintenance. Operate power driven maintenance equipment. Advise Maintenance Supervisor of any hazardous situations they notice while working on school property. Be able to perform certain maintenance duties without direct supervision.
Equipment Used:
Power tools (drill, saw, etc.), hand tools, welder (gas and electric air), concrete mixer, light truck or van.
Working Conditions:
Moderate walking, standing, climbing, heavy lifting and carrying, stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching. Work outside and inside and around moving objects or vehicles. Exposure to extreme temperatures, chemicals (herbicides and fertilizer), and loud noises. Frequent district wide travel.
