Responsible for the maintenance, repair, and operation of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation equipment critical to the efficient functioning of the treatment facility. This role plays a vital role in ensuring the continuous operation of equipment and systems essential for wastewater treatment processes.QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent is required; additional technical education or certification in mechanical, electrical, or instrumentation maintenance preferred. Proven experience in industrial maintenance is required, preferably in a wastewater treatment or similar process industry. Must possess a valid Driver's License (Class C) at time of placement. Must be available to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, and respond to after-hours emergencies as needed.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems, including troubleshooting techniques and repair procedures. Proficiency in reading technical manuals, blueprints, and electrical schematics to interpret equipment specifications and diagnose issues. Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively to perform repairs and maintenance tasks. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize tasks and work independently or as part of a team. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with colleagues, contractors, and vendors.MAJOR DUTIES
Perform preventive maintenance tasks on mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation equipment, including pumps, motors, valves, conveyors, blowers, and control systems, to minimize downtime and optimize performance. Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform corrective repairs using diagnostic tools, technical manuals, and schematics to identify and address root causes of issues. Conduct routine inspections of equipment and facilities to identify potential problems, safety hazards, and maintenance needs, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions as necessary. Assist in the installation, commissioning, and testing of new equipment and upgrades, collaborating with contractors, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with specifications and regulations. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities. Adhere to safety protocols and procedures, to maintain a safe working environment and prevent accidents. Provide training and guidance to plant personnel on equipment operation, maintenance procedures, and safety practices to promote skill development and knowledge sharing. Other duties as assigned. This position is an essential service position and will require providing services during emergency situations.
