Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Worker to join our team, responsible for ensuring the proper upkeep and functionality of our facilities and outdoor spaces. This role involves performing a variety of maintenance tasks, including landscaping, equipment operation, and general repairs. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency with hand tools and power tools, and experience in landscape maintenance, lawn care, and construction-related activities. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to the safety, aesthetics, and operational efficiency of our environment through proactive maintenance and skilled craftsmanship. Duties Perform landscape maintenance tasks such as mowing, tree trimming, gardening, and lawn care to maintain attractive outdoor spaces. Operate and maintain various power tools, hand tools, and heavy equipment including excavators for construction or landscaping projects. Conduct routine inspections of facilities to identify repair needs or safety hazards; perform repairs promptly to ensure safety standards are met. Assist with hardscape installation and maintenance projects involving pathways, patios, retaining walls, or other structural features. Manage irrigation systems, including installation, troubleshooting, and repairs to ensure optimal watering schedules. Conduct snow plowing operations during winter months to keep pathways clear and safe for pedestrians. Support tree care activities such as pruning and planting to promote healthy growth and landscape aesthetics. Collaborate with team members on landscaping projects or construction tasks requiring specialized skills in horticulture or land development. Maintain detailed records of work performed and materials used; ensure all tasks comply with safety regulations. Skills Strong mechanical knowledge with experience operating a variety of hand tools, power tools, and heavy machinery such as excavators. Proficiency in lawn care practices including mowing, edging, fertilizing, and weed control. Knowledge of landscape maintenance techniques including planting, pruning, irrigation systems, and hardscape installation. Familiarity with horticulture principles and plant care best practices. Ability to perform general construction tasks related to landscaping or facility repairs. Experience in snow plowing operations and winter weather maintenance procedures. Excellent problem-solving skills combined with attention to detail; ability to work independently or as part of a team. Good communication skills for coordinating with supervisors or clients regarding project requirements.
