Collin County is seeking candidates for the position of Maintenance Specialist. A Maintenance Specialist is responsible for but, not limited to, maintaining the exterior of facilities and roadways. Work is performed under the direction of a Facilities Tech Coordinator or Foreman. Primary Functions Trimming trees and brush from streets and bridges. Assisting with various maintenance crews during emergency conditions. Picking up and removing trash, and ensuring lights are operating properly. Assisting in the sign shop by helping to fabricate signs. Assisting with the installation and repair of signs, performing light street maintenance, building barricades and hauling and unloading materials. Performs related duties by assisting with the installation of temporary barricades and may flag to direct traffic. Maintains daily records of work performed and communicates with other departments. Performs related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Must have the knowledge necessary to understand basic operational, technical, and office processes. Must possess and maintain a valid Texas Operators Drivers License with an acceptable driving record. No experience is required. Must have a level of education equivalent to four years of high school. Candidates must be able to pass a post offer, pre-employment physical (POPP), a Functional Physical Capacity Assessment (FPCA), a drug screen, and a background check, when required. Must be able to pass physical fitness test to be eligible for hire.
