Pastor and Director of Operations Summary:
The Maintenance / Janitorial Worker will be responsible for the care and maintenance of the parish facilities and grounds. This position will also require the individual to be knowledgeable of minor repairs to include carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC and painting. Responsibilities include basic and preventive maintenance and ensuring safe and efficient grounds and facilities. Responsibilities General Duties. Clean and care for assigned areas and equipment (dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming). Check grounds for litter/garbage and unsafe conditions. Identify and report building and ground issues in need of repair or attention to Pastor. Observe and adhere to all safe work and health policies and regulations Lift and carry supplies, equipment, deliveries etc. weighing up to 30 pounds. Replace light bulbs as needed. Replace filters on all facilities' air conditioners, furnace, etc. as recommended. Set-up rooms in the manner and timeframe requested (tables, chairs, microphone, chalk boards, etc.). Perform and document routine inspection and maintenance activities Keep buildings and property clean, attractive, well-maintained and energy efficient. Stock and maintain a cost-effective inventory of custodial cleaning supplies, paper, toiletries, lighting and maintenance/repair supplies. Assist staff and volunteers with manual tasks as needed. Attend Buildings & Grounds meetings as necessary. Perform repairs or general maintenance including minor carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC and painting tasks. Prepares, sets up and breaks down meeting room set up per work order request to include tables, chairs and meeting equipment. Performs a variety of tasks in the maintenance and alterations of landscape areas as needed Maintains security of campus buildings including checking, opening, closing and locking doors and windows, activating and deactivating building alarm. Moves and assists in transporting furniture and delivery of items to and from campus sites and facilities. Use of tools ranging from common hand and power tools such as hammers, hoist, saws, drills and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices. Pastor and Director of Operations Requirements Requirements Qualifications:
Must possess good interpersonal and communication skills. Prior custodian / janitorial experience preferred. Ability to perform with minimal daily supervision. Knowledge and/ or experience working with cleaning equipment and chemicals Must be proactive in support of the Church and Parish purpose, goals, policies and programs.
Education/Experience:
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent is required. The applicant should possess combination of education, training and/ or experience to effectively perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the job.
Physical Demands:
Spend 80-90% of work time standing/ squatting/ lifting/ kneeling doing a wide variety of moderate physical activity both indoors and outdoors. The position requires the lifting of tools, equipment or material weighing up to 30 lbs. as necessary. Use of ladders and climbing up to 30 feet high will be required to maintain facilities when necessary.

Relate well, communicate professionally and courteously with staff, volunteers, parishioners, children. Maintain a neat appearance.
