Job Description
Part-time position providing services for the operations of the Civic Center facility and equipment primarily on evenings and weekends. Assists clients in the execution of events, ensuring safety of clients and integrity of the building. Responsible for opening and/or closing the facility for events and assisting clients with the use of event equipment, and processing rental and program payments in accordance with City policies and procedures. Responsible for opening and closing the facility at appropriate times for client events Ensures all equipment is in working order upon arrival Sets up equipment for events such as heating-ventilation and air conditioning (HV/AC), lighting, audio visual (A/V), tables and chairs, and any other equipment required for client events Provides internal and external customer service Answers and prioritizes calls and requests Greets customers and provides information and services Responds appropriately to questions, concerns or complaints clients may have during an event; notifies on-call supervisor if resolution is not successful or requires assistance Maintains a log of events to note any problems or questions Ensures clients are compliant with all facility usage policies during events; notifies on-call supervisor of any major infractions for resolution Ensures event checklists are completed and signed by event staff and client and submitted to supervisor Ensures appropriate procedures for alcohol events are followed as per policy Ensures the correct number of officers are in attendance per contract Maintains restroom supplies; performs occasional janitorial duties as needed during event to ensure cleanliness of facility and safety of clients and event attendees Provides set-up and breakdown of Civic Center equipment as required by event and facility schedule Collects rental and program payments in accordance with City policies and procedures Processes transactions through CivicRec or other approved City software systems Performs basic cash handling duties and ensures accurate transaction documentation Reconciles shift transactions and follows established cash control procedures Provides customer service support for walk-in registrations and rental inquiries Documents discrepancies or incidents and escalates issues to management as appropriate Performs other duties as assigned High School Diploma or successful completion of the General Educational Development (GED) Test Valid Class C Texas Driver's License Reliable transportation and liability insurance
