Job Description The Facilities Maintenance Worker I will perform basic maintenance and repair work on university housing facilities, assisting with the completion of the room make-readies and completion of preventative maintenance work orders. They participate as a Department of Housing and Residential Life Facilities Maintenance team member in providing noteworthy customer service to students, staff, and guests. This position will report to a head maintenance worker.
Job Duties Perform basic electrical, plumbing and carpentry repairs
Repair, replace, and maintain existing fixtures, equipment and systems
Coordinate workloads and projects with others
Identify necessary parts and maintain building inventory
Inspect building(s) and perform preventative maintenance
Fabricate parts or components
Install new appliances or equipment
Prepare work reports
Perform basic HVAC inspections and filter change
Provide updates to residence hall directors and students regarding repairs and issues
Perform all physical aspects of assigned duties, including stooping, reaching, climbing, and lifting up to 50 pounds
Serve as on-call and essential personnel, which requires occasional irregular work hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays and emergency closures, to meet the department's and the university's needs
Perform other duties as assigned
