PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
Work is performed primarily outdoors across City parks and recreation facilities. Duties require frequent exposure to extreme weather conditions, hazardous materials, tools, and equipment. The position requires standing, walking on uneven surfaces, bending, lifting, and carrying materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Occasional exposure to infectious materials may occur during cleaning and maintenance tasks.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Experience in park maintenance, landscaping, or facility maintenance preferred.
  • Must possess a valid State driver's license.
  • Park and facility maintenance practices and procedures.
  • Safe use, maintenance, and troubleshooting of hand and power tools.
  • Applicable local, state, and federal laws, codes, and regulations.
  • Occupational hazards and sage work methods.
  • Customer service and teamwork principles.
  • Operating lawn care, landscaping and maintenance equipment.
  • Performing physical labor safely and efficiently.
  • Prioritizing tasks and meeting assigned deadlines.
  • Following written and verbal instructions accurately.
  • Communication courteously and effectively.
  • Work independently and cooperatively within a team environment.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with co-workers and supervisors.
  • Demonstrate reliability, accountability, and attention to detail.
  • Perform duties outdoors under varying weather conditions.
