ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Provides overall maintenance of Y facilities, including Bill Bartley Family Y, Dillard Early Learning & Youth Academy, Sports Complex, and Stephens Gymnastics Center, as directed by the Maintenance Director and/or VP of Operations. 2. Anticipates risk, implications, and possible outcomes before taking action. 3. Completes repair work and projects in a timely manner. Works with contractors that work in the facility and grounds. May request and review bids, project pricing, and recommend selection of contractors. 4. Works with the Maintenance Director and outside agencies such as, fire, health, building depts., etc. to ensure compliance with all local, state and federal regulations related to facilities and grounds. 5. Identifies and mitigates significant business, financial, and operating risks and advises supervisor and management on maintenance issues and projects as requested. 6. Recommends updates to facility plans periodically. May provide input with annual plan of capital projects, consistent with the YMCAs strategic plan and community needs. 7. Ability to manage people and vendor projects at a high level. 8. Understanding of basic plumbing, electrical, and routine facility maintenance and repairs. 9. Perform preventive maintenance and repairs to health and wellness equipment according to manufacturer standards. 10. Working knowledge of life safety/ mechanical/electrical/plumbing systems, carpentry & other maintenance-related areas. 11. Familiarity with personal computers helpful to access e-mails and work order system. 12. Maintains whirlpool chemical levels in compliance with local health department standards. 13. Communicates effectively with Maintenance Director and VP of Operations on all maintenance and repairs to facility. 14. Assist the VP of Operations in oversite of third party janitorial staff for Bill Bartley Family Center, Dillard Youth Learning Academy, Stephens Gymnastics Center, and Fain and Isaiah Sports Complex. 15. Adheres to association and position training requirements. 16. Participates in annual fundraising. 17. Work various hours and locations to meet association needs. 18. Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.
LEADERSHIP COMPETENCIES
Critical Thinking & Decision Making Fiscal Management
QUALIFICATIONS
Three or more years of experience in large facility management or closely related field. CPR, First Aid and AED certifications required within 30 days of hire. Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, carpentry, and other maintenance-related areas. Skills in supervision, budget management and project management. Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification required within 90 days of employment. Valid State Drivers License with record that meets YMCA standards. Familiarity with personal computers necessary. Excellent written and verbal communication in English required. Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations.
