Position Summary The Maintenance Worker-Facility Maintenance position is the labor force for the NTMWD and is called on by all systems when additional labor is needed. This position performs semi-skilled and unskilled duties such as general facility maintenance repairs and construction for all NTMWD Systems. Works under direct supervision. The Facility Maintenance group oversees all aspects of a building maintenance, both interior and exterior of the facilities, by performing daily building maintenance repairs and preventative inspections/maintenance on equipment and emergency repairs. Handles the fabrication of walls, installation of doors and windows, paint selection and preparation, basic plumbing installation, grounds maintenance activities, and troubleshooting. Job Responsibilities Responds to various work orders and special projects as directed by the Facility Maintenance Crewleader. Assists in maintaining corporate buildings and grounds in top condition. Maintains a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency in all maintenance and repair projects. Performs basic facility and/or maintenance repairs. Performs weekly, bi-weekly, monthly and annual preventative maintenance, repair, and installation in connection with roofing, plumbing, HVAC systems and exterior and interior of buildings. Performs prep and painting of protective coatings on NTMWD pipelines and appurtenances. Identifies and troubleshoot problems with irrigation systems and make repairs as necessary. Participates in regular cleanings of pump stations and outer facilities to remove debris and treat for insects. Inspects properties to identify pest infestations and weed overgrowth and apply appropriate treatment. Works overtime when needed in order to prevent disruption of District activities. Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements Education & Experience:
Must possess a high school diploma or GED. Texas Structural Pesticide Applicators License preferred. Texas Herbicide Applicators License preferred. Requires a valid Texas Driver's License.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Must have the ability to understand directions and be able to perform those tasks with or without direct supervision. Must have basic knowledge of carpentry and / or other trades. Must follow all safety requirements and remain current on safety training. Must be able to use small hand and power tools. (ie Hammer, screwdriver etc). Environmental and Physical Working Conditions Driving a District vehicle for business will be required. Employees required to drive as part of their job duties are responsible for maintaining a current, valid, and vehicle
- appropriate driver' s license of their resident state.
This position requires significant physical exertion with lifting requirements up to 50 pounds daily and up to 100 pounds weekly. Working conditions include exposure to weather, odor, chemical hazards, gases and dust. Will be required to use small hand tools, and safety equipment. Thank you for considering a career with us!
