Maintenance Worker plumbing/hvac

Job Summary We are seeking a proactive and skilled Maintenance Worker specializing in plumbing and HVAC systems to join our dynamic facilities maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal operation, safety, and reliability of our building's plumbing, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. Your expertise will help maintain a comfortable, safe environment for staff and visitors alike. Duties Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on plumbing and HVAC systems to ensure efficiency and safety. Troubleshoot and repair issues related to piping, fixtures, boilers, air handlers, thermostats, and electrical components associated with HVAC systems. Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and system blueprints to accurately diagnose problems. Operate specialized tools such as ohmmeters for electrical testing and welding equipment for repairs when necessary. Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to document work orders, track maintenance history, and schedule future tasks. Coordinate with team members or supervisors when supervising or mentoring junior staff or apprentices. Ensure compliance with safety standards and building codes during all maintenance activities. Assist with facilities maintenance projects including residential painting or other general repairs as needed. Maintain excellent customer service by communicating clearly with tenants or facility users regarding maintenance activities or system issues. Experience Proven experience in facilities maintenance with a focus on plumbing and HVAC systems in residential or commercial settings. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with electrical experience related to building systems. Familiarity with schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams for troubleshooting purposes. Hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) used in automated building systems. Skilled in welding techniques for pipe repairs or fabrication tasks. Experience supervising or leading maintenance teams is preferred but not required. Knowledge of CMMS software for work order management is advantageous. Ability to use diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters effectively for electrical troubleshooting. Excellent communication skills in English to facilitate clear reporting and teamwork across diverse groups.
