Job Description

The Public Works Department is seeking Seasonal Maintenance Workers to support the upkeep of City-owned stormwater facilities. This position performs manual labor, operates hand tools and light equipment, and assists with general maintenance tasks while maintaining a strong focus on safety and teamwork. We believe diversity and inclusion strengthen our operations. Essential Functions Use hand tools and light equipment, including shovels, mowers, weed trimmers, pruning tools, blowers, and chainsaws. Perform landscape maintenance such as weeding and mulching. Assist City crews in maintaining various City-owned infrastructure. Under supervision, support the repair, installation, and maintenance of stormwater systems and facilities; work may be strenuous and repetitive. Operate trucks to travel to worksites, deliver materials, and remove debris. Qualifications High school diploma or GED.
Preferred:
Six months of labor experience in similar outdoor work or a combination of education and experience that provides the required skills. Must be at least 18 years old. Must pass a criminal background check. Must have a clean driving record and provide a driving abstract prior to hire. Must meet the physical requirements of the position. Skills and Abilities Proficiency with mechanical hand tools. Work effectively in a crew or independently. Perform sustained physical labor, including bending, walking, lifting, and equipment handling. Maintain physical endurance for extended periods in varying weather conditions; may require lifting up to 80 lbs. and performing strenuous manual labor. Knowledge Knowledge of landscape maintenance practices is preferred.
