This role requires a proactive individual with a wide range of maintenance skills, including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, drywall, painting, mechanical equipment servicing, and welding. The specialist will also need the ability to read and interpret blueprints to effectively perform and manage maintenance tasks. This position reports directly to the stadium's Building Maintenance Lead.
Essential Job Functions Electrical Systems:
Inspect, repair, and maintain electrical systems and components, including lighting, outlets, circuits, and panels. Troubleshoot electrical issues and ensure compliance with safety standards.
Plumbing:
Perform repairs and maintenance on plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, and drainage systems. Address leaks, clogs, and other plumbing issues promptly.
Carpentry:
Execute carpentry tasks such as repairing or building wooden structures, cabinets, and fixtures. Handle tasks related to seating, cabinetry, and other wooden elements of the stadium.
Drywall:
Install, repair, and finish drywall. Address issues such as cracks, holes, and water damage to maintain a clean and polished appearance.
Painting:
Prepare surfaces and apply paint to various areas within the stadium. Ensure high-quality finishes and maintain the venue's aesthetic appeal.
Mechanical Equipment:
Maintain and repair mechanical equipment, including HVAC systems, elevators, and other machinery essential for stadium operations.
Welding:
Perform welding tasks as needed for structural repairs or modifications. Ensure all welding work is conducted safely and meets required standards.
Blueprint Interpretation:
Read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams to understand layout and installation requirements. Use blueprints to guide repairs and renovations.
Routine Maintenance:
Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of all stadium facilities, including seating areas, restrooms, concession stands, locker rooms, and administrative offices.
Event Preparation:
Collaborate with event staff to prepare the stadium for games and other events. Performs all related duties necessary to ensure l facilities are ready, clean, and operational before each event.
Emergency Response:
May respond to emergency maintenance issues during events or off-hours, managing urgent repairs and coordinating with emergency services as directed and/or in the absence of the Building Maintenance Lead or Stadium Manager.
Customer Service:
Interact with MLB staff, vendors, and occasionally guests to address maintenance-related concerns and provide excellent service.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Constant walking, standing, use of hands and feet, fingers, legs, reaching above shoulders, kneeling, bending and squatting. Frequent heavy lifting (up to 75lbs.). Very frequent light lifting (50lbs or less). Frequent light carrying (30lbs. or less). Adequate vision to read gauges, diagrams, and instructions and to identify potential hazards. Sufficient hearing ability to respond to auditory signals, alarms, and verbal communication.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
Duties are performed in both indoor, climate-controlled settings and outdoor environments, where employees may be exposed to varying weather conditions such as heat, cold, humidity, and rain. Work may involve exposure to noise, dust, hazardous chemicals, and mechanical equipment. Employees must be able to understand and follow Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for safe handling of chemicals. Tasks may require working in confined spaces or at heights, including from ladders, scaffolding, or other elevated surfaces. Physical demands include heavy lifting and the use of power tools. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is provided and must be worn as required. The position may also require shift flexibility, including evenings, weekends, and on-call assignments.
SAFETY EQUIPMENT & PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT
(PPE): Employees are required to adhere to all safety protocols and utilize appropriate safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE) provided to ensure a safe working environment.
Specific requirements include:
Mandatory PPE:
Employees must wear designated PPE, which may include safety goggles, gloves, hard hats, hearing protection, and respiratory masks, depending on the tasks performed.
Safety Training:
All employees will receive training on the proper use and maintenance of safety equipment and PPE to minimize risks and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Inspection and Maintenance:
Employees are responsible for regularly inspecting their PPE for wear and tear, and reporting any damaged equipment to their supervisor for replacement.
Emergency Equipment:
Familiarity with the location and use of emergency equipment, such as fire extinguishers, first aid kits, and eyewash stations, is required.

County employees are considered essential personnel in providing and continuing services to our community during and following a disaster, such as a hurricane, or in other emergency situations. As a requirement of County employment,County employees are subject to being required to remain at work during an event, respond to a recall immediately following an event and/or immediately reporting to work when an all clear is declared by the County Administrator. During these types of events, County employees may temporarily be assigned to work and perform duties outside the normal scope of their position, location, and work schedule to fit the needs of the County and its citizens.

Willingness to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as events dictate. Must possess a valid FL driver's license and a good driving record.
Additional Information Pay Grade:
T06 This is a union position. Driving Position - Operating County vehicles and/or equipment is a primary function of this position.
PRE-EMPLOYMENT SCREENING
This position requires a physical, drug testing, driver's license verification and level 1 background screening.
