Maintenance Assistant St Clare Hospital - 3.6 Lakewood, WA Job Details Full-time $29.55 - $41.87 an hour 1 hour ago Qualifications Facilities maintenance Full Job Description Job Summary and Responsibilities As our Maintenance Assistant, you'll keep our patient rooms and all areas of the hospital clean and sanitized. This protects everyone from potential illness or injury due to infectious diseases or other hazards. Every day, you will perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, or dusting. You will also use specialized equipment and techniques to further sanitize our facility. This role requires you to learn and adhere to proper disposal techniques for biohazard materials, including bodily fluids or sharp objects. You may also refill soap dispensers, paper towel dispensers, and other supplies, as well as deliver clean linens. To be successful in this role, you are thorough and committed to safety. You truly are the most important component contributing to the safety and comfort of our patients, visitors, and staff. A well-maintained facility with compassionate staff brings comfort and peace of mind to patients, their loved ones, and all who serve here. Performs a variety of building maintenance tasks to include assisting on painting, plumbing and electrical projects and general cleaning as directed. Paints interior and exterior of facility or grounds. Assembles/installs/moves office furniture, files and cabinets. Hangs pictures, hooks etc. Performs general clean-up duties; may operate pressure washing or steam cleaning equipment; picks up litter and sweeps floors in facility areas. Assists in maintaining the outside areas and grounds, as necessary. Depending on assigned facility, may be responsible for the office paper-recycling pickup and delivery. Performs minor preventive maintenance tasks on a variety of hospital and kitchen related equipment under the guidance of a Maintenance Engineer. Performs minor repairs and preventive maintenance for the purpose of ensuring the ongoing functioning of equipment. Maintains tools and/or equipment for the purpose of ensuring the availability of equipment in safe operating condition; keeps equipment rooms clean and in good order. Provides assistance with other trades for the purpose of completing projects/work orders. Sets up classrooms for meetings in requested arrangement. Makes adjustments to room set up layout to accommodate requestor when necessary. Orders and receives parts and materials to make necessary repairs on related equipment. Ensures that parts and materials are ordered and available to make repairs. Make trips to obtain necessary parts, as needed. Assigns purchase orders and files paperwork. Job Requirements Required One year of recent building maintenance work experience that demonstrates attainment of the requisite job knowledge skills/abilities.
