This position performs landscaping, groundskeeping, and seasonal maintenance activities to ensure outdoor areas are clean, well-maintained, and compliant with contract requirements. The role supports both routine and emergency grounds maintenance for commercial, industrial, or government facilities and may operate in remote or environmentally sensitive locations. Key Responsibilities The Grounds Maintenance worker performs routine landscaping and groundskeeping duties, including mowing, trimming, edging, pruning, and maintaining lawns, shrubs, trees, and planted areas. Responsibilities include planting, watering, fertilizing, and general care of vegetation to ensure healthy growth and appearance in accordance with contract standards. The position is responsible for maintaining walkways, parking areas, and exterior spaces by removing debris, trash, and hazards. Seasonal duties include snow and ice removal, application of de-icing materials, and preparation of grounds for winter or summer conditions. The role may also include erosion control, drainage maintenance, and minor irrigation system upkeep. The Grounds Maintenance worker operates and maintains landscaping equipment such as mowers, trimmers, blowers, and small machinery. The position ensures that all tools and equipment are used safely, properly maintained, and stored in an organized manner. The role supports facility operations by responding to service calls and work orders related to grounds maintenance. The worker may assist with minor exterior repairs, fencing, signage, and general site upkeep. Documentation of completed work and reporting of any issues affecting grounds safety or condition are required. Compliance & Safety Requirements The Grounds Maintenance Worker performs all duties in accordance with contract requirements and applicable federal, state, and local regulations. This includes adherence to safety standards such as

when applicable, as well as OSHA guidelines and company safety policies. Proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required at all times. The position ensures compliance with environmental and sustainability requirements, particularly when working in federally managed or environmentally sensitive areas. Coordination with agencies such as Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command or other federal entities may be required depending on contract scope. Qualifications Must experience in landscaping, groundskeeping, or general outdoor maintenance. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required. Hold a valid drivers license Experience operating landscaping equipment and performing seasonal maintenance tasks is highly desirable. The candidate must demonstrate reliability, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Knowledge of basic plant care, irrigation systems, and safe equipment operation is preferred. Experience supporting government or facility maintenance contracts is a plus. Security & Clearance Requirements The Grounds Maintenance Worker must successfully pass a background investigation and obtain clearance in accordance with National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration security requirements. This includes eligibility for facility access and badging credentials necessary to perform work on-site. Continued employment is contingent upon maintaining active clearance and compliance with all badging and access control procedures as required by the contract. Additional Requirements This position requires the ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work, including lifting, carrying, bending, and standing for extended periods. The role involves working in various weather conditions, including extreme cold, heat, rain, and snow, and may require operation of equipment on uneven terrain.

Pay:

$25.00 - $27.00 per hour
