Our mission with each community is to support their success by providing strong leadership, corporate support, and the resources and tools to realize their goals. We are seeking a Maintenance Assistant to join our team! This role offers a great opportunity for someone interested in healthcare facility operations and maintenance, particularly within a skilled nursing environment.
Position:
Maintenance Assistant Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Maintenance Director with daily maintenance tasks including repairs, groundskeeping, equipment checks, and general upkeep. Support the trach unit by ensuring critical areas are functioning properly and maintaining equipment cleanliness and readiness. Respond to work orders and safety concerns in a timely and efficient manner. Perform basic repairs and maintenance on facility systems such as lighting, HVAC, plumbing, and fixtures under supervision. Help with seasonal outdoor tasks such as landscaping, trash removal, and general beautification of the grounds. Ensure hallways and rooms remain clear and hazard-free to maintain resident and staff safety. Communicate effectively with nursing and environmental services teams to coordinate needs in the trach unit. Follow infection control protocols and maintain confidentiality and resident dignity at all times.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous maintenance or custodial experience a plus but not required. Comfortable working around residents with medical conditions, including tracheostomies. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, kneel, and perform physical tasks safely.
