Job Description
Purpose of Position:
The Campground Maintenance position provides daily maintenance to an assigned Clark County Forestry and Parks campgrounds or shop facility by cleaning and maintaining the campgrounds or any recreation trail system and facilities. The seasonal dam operator responsibilities are specified in essential duties and responsibilities section. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The following duties are normal for this position and this list is not exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned. Operate light equipment such as trucks, UTV, riding lawn mower, push lawn mower, weed trimmer, leaf blower etc. Use hand tools such as rakes, shovels, hoe, and axes to conduct basic landscaping duties. Use common cleaning supplies to maintain cleanliness in facilities located inside the campground. Remove ash from campsite fire pits and transport to ash bunkers. Place reservation signs on correct campsite posts for incoming campground users. Maintain friendly disposition toward public. Provide basic campground knowledge to campground users. Maintain a neat and clean personal appearance at all times while on duty. Assist management with enforcement of county ordinances, rules and regulations. Issue receipts for product sales. Assist with Forestry and Parks operations as assigned. Seasonal Dam Operator Responsibilities Expectations for dam operation will be to perform routine water level checks and dam gate adjustments as directed by the Clark Co. Forestry and Parks Dept. Maintains areas around dam, structures, facilities, monitors water level on-site and electronically, makes gate adjustments accordingly, records gate operation and measurements in log entry book and time sheets. Communicates with other municipalities downstream, and other agencies such as Emergency Management, Sherriff Dept, DNR, US Army Corps of Engineers as requested. Assist with other Forestry and Parks operations as assigned. Minimum Training and Experience Required to Perform Essential Job Functions This position requires knowledge usually acquired in high school. One to three years of experience in customer service, park maintenance or janitorial services is preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered. Seasonal dam operator; the ability to operate the dam gates at times outside of the regular workday, potentially during the night hours.OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
